PICKUP SECRET AGENT

On the 7th of June 1941, two He111s from
Derna were tasked with a secret mission -
the pickup of a secret agent from the
vicinity of Cairo. The planes had armor
removed to increase their range, and were
flying at the limit of their endurance.
The plan was to pick up El Masri Pasha,
the ex-chief of staff of the Egyptian
Army, who had been dismissed by the
British. He was a German sympathizer and
wanted the British out of Egypt. They
were to pick him up south of Cairo in the
desert, one hour before sunset, with one
He111 flying cover while the other
landed. Unfortunately, no one showed at
the pickup point, and it was getting dark
so the planes aborted. The minarets of
Cairo could be seen in the setting sun as
they returned to Derna.

MISSION

Go to the designated waypoint (across the
Nile River) and look for your passenger.
You must cross the Nile before aborting.
Then return to Derna.
