Intercept Over Dessau w/ Go229Bs

WEATHER: Nitefire recommended
INSERTS: None
MIN.TIME: 12:15
RADAR: FuG 240 "Berlin" (map usable)

The Me262B-1a was in active service
with the Nachtjagdkorps before the
end of the war, all examples being
used by 10./NJG11 around Berlin.
Their usage was limited by lack of
crews, lack of spare parts, lack
of a fuel supply network, and the
destruction of many aircraft on the
ground by Allied day fighters. The
B-1a was seen as a stop-gap model
until the arrival of the specialized
B-2a. Only 2 examples of the B-2a
were flown before the end of the war.
The more advanced Go229B did not see
wartime production at all. Had both
of these aircraft been available,
along with a functional Nachtjagdkorps
organization (BIG IF!!!<G>), it is
quite possible that they could have
had decisive operational success, al-
though such successes would have been
meaningless within the overall German
strategic context.
ORDERS:
Lead your flight of Me262B-2as into
combat, where you will be joined by
a group of new Go229Bs. Since your
pilots have had experience at besting
the Mosquito, concentrate on engaging
the escorts while the Go229Bs go after
the bombers.
