Operation Keystone

You are flying as wingman in a three
plane element of a group of three
B17Gs. Your group of 3 is the tail
end of the formation. All three groups
are staggard at different heights
and stretched out due to weather
conditions earlier in the mission.

One of the boys up at bomber command
has christened this mission "Keystone"
because he used to work for the
Pennsylvania Railroad at home and
their company logo is a keystone
with "PRR" on it. Since the targets
are railroad yards, he thought it
was a natural name for it.

             Mission Orders

The B17s are escorted by P51s and
are after the railroad yards at
Frankfurt, Mainz, and Mannheim.
Each group must follow the flight
path of the lead groups to their
targets. Your group has been
assigned the Mannheim yards.

Be alert for friendly as well as
enemy fighters.
