INTERCEPT B-17S HEADING BACK TO ENGLAND

With the allied air forces becoming
stronger and stronger in 1943 and 1944
the German High Command ordered that all
fighter units have to fly not one mission
a day but land and refuel their planes and
fly two or three missions a day! It was
hoped that this way the enemy bombers
would be harrassed all their way through
Germany back to the Channel coast.
However this began to wear down the German
fighter units even more, especially when
allied escort fighters were operating at
greater range. There were also unbe-
lievable difficulties for ground personnel,
organisation, communication etc.

YOUR MISSION

This is part two of a great two-part
mission!
Scramble your lone FW 190 quickly and
follow the waypoints on your map, again
climbing to 30000 feet. When you fly east
for some time you will encounter enemy
bombers and fighters coming from their
target in Berlin. See that as few as
possible make their way back to England.
