Nite11 - "Wratting Common"

WEATHER: Niteowl
INSERTS: Do217J-2 replaces Do217N-2
         in Bf109G6 slot
MIN.TIME: None
RADAR: None

The Do217J-1 was the immediate prede-
cessor of the Do217J-2 night fighter,
both being derived from the E-2 bomber.
The J-1 differed from the later J-2
in that it had no intercept radar,
and it retained the bomb bay of the
E-2, allowing 8 110-lb. SC 50X bombs
to be carried. The J-1 was slated to
be used on intruder missions over
Bomber Command airfields, disrupting
RAF operations as they launched and
recovered aircraft.
The J-1 proved wholly unsuited for
this task, and it was quickly relegated
to training.

ORDERS: Lead your rotte of Do217J-1s
(J-2s) over England and attack Wratting
Common airfield. Our intelligence sources
have pinpointed this as one of the bom-
ber bases that will be commiting assets
for tonight's expected RAF raid.
