      The Messerschmitt Bf109H-2 "Schwerer Hoehenjaeger"

As the war progressed, calls went out for increased altitude
fighters from the Technische Amt of the RLM. Messerschmitt
came up with the Me209 program and the Bf109H basically in
parallel. The Bf109H was a Bf109F with the wings lengthened
and a specially designed high altitude engine.
Several Bf109H-1s were delivered to the Luftwaffe in
Guyancourt, France, in early 1944, and the service ceiling
was around 47,500 feet. However, testing was abandoned when
the Ta152H was selected for go-ahead. Two versions of the
Bf109H fighters were are the Bf109H-2 (Heavy High Altitude
Fighter) and the BF109H-3 "Leichter Hoehenjaeger" (Light High
Altitude Fighter), the difference being the heavy version had
three Mk108 or Mk103 cannon plus two Mg151s, while the light
only had 1 30mm cannon plus two Mg131s. The last test model,
Bf109H V55 was destroyed in a bombing raid.
BF109H-2 SPECS: Armament: 3 Mk108 30mm cannon (60 r.p.g.),
one firing through the propellor hub, two in the wings, plus
2 x MG151 20mm cannon firing from the upper cowling (200
r.p.g.). Top speed: 427 mph at full boost at altitude, 367
at 19,685 feet. Cruise speed 292 mph, ceiling 44,290 feet,
wingspan 43 feet, 6 inches, length 33 feet 7.5 inches.

TO USE THIS PLANE: Copy your Bf109G10.SPC file (found in the
SWOTL\AC subdirectory) as BF109G10.ORI. Then, copy the file
Bf109H2.EXP into your SWOTL\AC subdirectory. To fly it, use
the dos command "COPY BF109H2.EXP BF109G10.SPC" and then
enter the game normally. To remove it and restore things to
normal, use the dos command "COPY BF109G10.ORI BF109G10.SPC"
-this returns the original files values back into the .SPC
file.

*Notice in some scenarios the game comes with, you will not
be able to choose the wing guns. This is a problem due to
the mission file, and not the plane. Any custom missions
built will work correctly, with correct choices for weapons.
